Inventory Analyst/Buyer
Responsibilities:
- Audit/Analyze inventory levels to maximize service for all inventories with a minimum investment, continually improving inventory turns and service simultaneous with a reduction in exposure to overstock and obsolescence.
- Prepare and maintain all service level and inventory analysis reports and performance metrics, including vendor and customer (distributor) stocking levels, fill rates and backorder analysis. Provide relevant evaluation/analysis/feedback to interpret reports and identify actions needed.
- Maintain high levels of communications with supervisor, vendors and other departments, as necessary, regarding inventory and service levels.
- Buyer, responsible for generation of bid requests, maintenance and analysis of quotations from vendors, issuance and maintenance of purchase orders to vendors, maintenance of vendor contact information as well as primary contact for assigned vendors.
- Input inventory adjustments with clear audit trail of reasons for adjustments.
- Perform general systems audits to ensure the accuracy of system data and functions. Champion continuous improvement by recommending process changes as necessary to improve performance of the system or improvements in inventory performance.
- General management support, as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required.
- APICS certification desirable
- 3+ years experience in buying and inventory management procedures.
- Knowledge of material procurement, MRO, JIT and/or ISO procedures.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to maintain communication and credibility with external as well as internal contacts.
- Problem solver with proactive mentality interested in continuing improvements.
- Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
